Description: Robert Marzano has identified 10 researched-based strategies that support improved student achievement. This training will provide teachers with practical strategies that can be used immediately in their classrooms. Most of these easy to use ideas can be used with any age and in any content area. Description: PDC, the basics and beyond¬タᆭ. The training will focus on: ᅡᄋ Deepening understanding of the regulations. ᅡᄋ Creating awareness of current professional development issues in Kansas. ᅡᄋ Deepening understanding of Application and Impact ᅡᄋ Supporting PDCs in development of initiatives that take staff to Application and Impact. ᅡᄋ Providing opportunities for all participants to interact and collaborate with other PDCs and within your own PDC. There is NO Level 1 training for 2008-09. All PDC members are urged to participate in this training that includes a review of the Kansas In-Service regulations. Description: This session will discuss the incorporation of the Kansas Career Pipeline into CTE and academic classrooms. The Kansas Career Pipeline is a career planning system that is provide at no charge to all Kansas residents. KSDE encourages CTE instructors, academic instructors, counselors, special education support staff, and administrators to become familiar with the Career Pipeline and its many education-related applications. The Consortium will provide technical assistance to participants in this activity. A presentation on the use of the American Careers guidance magazine will be included in the session. |
